Positions Available

News Updater: One of the most critical roles at VT Emulation is the role of News Updater. This position entails identifying new emulator releases and site updates through our website update notification client as well as uploading any new releases to our server and posting the update to our front page. Applicants for this position should be comfortable working with visual HTML editing tools, FTP, and general functions of the VT Emulation forums. Software that is used in this position includes Nvu (an Open-Source graphical HTML editor) and SmartFTP (a free FTP client).

Contributing Editor: The position of Contributing Editor is also a very important role, this position’s purpose is to supply VT Emulation with content, mainly in the form of articles such as reviews, FAQs and editorials. Applicants for this position should be fluent in the English language and have a good understanding of proper form, punctuation, grammar and spelling. Applicants should also have access to both word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Corel Wordperfect, OpenOffice Writer, or AbiWord.

Community Moderator: At VT Emulation, our community is one of our greatest focal points as well as our prime method of interacting with our readers. The position of Community Moderator entails interacting with our readers in a positive manner through both the forums and the chat room, ensuring that VT Emulation’s community guidelines and integrity are maintained and responding to and resolving minor technical issues involving any community facility. Applicants should have a strong sense of integrity, the ability to resolve disputes and a passion for interacting with our readers.

Terms of Employment

When submitted, your application will be reviewed by our staff and potential staff members will be contacted directly. All new staff members are subject to a trial period of the staff’s discretion after which you will be re-evaluated and a decision will be made. All prospective staff members should be aware that any content submitted to VT Emulation becomes the sole property of VT Emulation and may not be reproduced in any capacity without permission of the administration. All applicants must also be aware that all work provided to VT Emulation is done with the understanding that no monetary compensation is given and that all work is done on a voluntary basis.
