The emulators below are considered works-in-progress. Due to their development stage many of these emulators may exhibit stability issues and may have little or no compatibility with commercial titles. Also due to their development stage we do not feel it's fair to rate these emulators as we do the others, so all emulators in this category are un-rated.

v0.25 Alpha for Windows
7 / 7 / 2004

Chankast is the first Dreamcast emulator released to run commercial titles. Chankast is capable of running many commercial titles at a decent speed on a 2Ghz system or above. Currently, Chankast is still in alpha stages, so many titles will contain graphical glitches or may not run at all. Due to limitations on reading the GD-ROM format, Chankast is only able to run from backup discs and homemade binaries.

Yet to be released Currently, Icarus is a yet-to-be released emulator. From the information provided so far on internal work-in-progress builds, this is looking to be the most impressive Dreamcast emulator to be announced. The Icarus site and forums contain some amazing screenshots and even video clips of this emulator in action. We will of course be providing a download once Icarus is available to the public.

Dreamer is a spanish Dreamcast emulator for Windows. From the Dreamer site, they claim to be one of the first Dreamcast emulators to show screens from a commercial game. Aside from showing a few screens from Namco Museum, this emulator pretty much only plays demos at the moment.
