Boycott Advance

v 0.2.8 for Windows
5 / 16 / 2003
Boycott Advance was one of the first GameBoy Advance emulators to be developed. It has a very high compatibility rate, includes joystick support, has a few development tools and has decent sound emulation. The only area this emulator is lacking in is video, at the moment there is no support for hardware acceleration or vsync leading to slightly choppy motion.
Overall Rating: 7.0 out of 10

v2.2b for DOS
2 / 4 / 2006

No$GBA (pronounced "No Cash GBA") is a very fast, compatible and lightweight GameBoy Advance emulator for Windows and DOS. This emulator is based on the commercial project No$GBA Debugger and is intended to be a freeware version designed specifically for gaming. No$GBA lacks many extras that one would expect to find in a modern emulator, such as graphical filters, but makes up for it in speed, compatibility, and an astonishingly small file size. No$GBA also has excellent GameLink support and is capable of emulating up to 12 GameBoy Advances. It is also worth noting that this is one of the only GBA emulators available for DOS, and by far the best.
Overall Rating: 8.0 out of 10

The emulators below are considered works-in-progress. Due to their development stage many of these emulators may exhibit stability issues and may have little or no compatibility with commercial titles. Also due to their development stage we do not feel it's fair to rate these emulators as we do the others, so all emulators in this category are un-rated.

AGD

v0.14b for Windows
8 / 16 / 2001
At the moment, AGD is much more of a debugger than it is an emulator and as such, we don’t feel it’s fair to rate it based on emulator criteria. AGD is certainly geared towards developers more than it is gamers.
BatGBA

v2.25b for Windows
7 / 11 / 2002
BatGBA is a promising work in progress, but at the present time compatibility is somewhat small and sound emulation has a lot of quarks. The graphical engine however is excellent. This is certainly an emulator to watch.
BoycottAdv. SDL

v0.2.8 R1 for Windows
6 / 21 / 2003
This is a version of Boycott Advance based on the SDL library. This version requires both the SDL library and DirectX to run. Although it has a GUI front-end, this is primarily a command-line driven emulator. At this point, the emulation isn’t perfect and a lot of graphical flaws exist within the emulator itself.

VIII Pre-Alpha 2 for Windows

Source Code (Unkown Ver.)
Date Unknown
There’s really not much we can say on this one, seeing as it would not run on either of our test systems and according to the included documentation, it’s doubtful that this emulator can run any commercial titles.

The author of CowByte has released the source code to the emulator under the GNU Public License (GPL) as open-source software. The author has not stated the version of the source and it's time of release is unknown.
RascalBoy Adv.
Homepage
v1.2.8.5 for Windows
11 / 13 / 2004
RascalBoy is currently a work-in-progress emulator. Many commercial games can be emulated on it, but speed and stability are both seriously in question. This emulator is also lacking some of the more typical features such as a full-screen mode and gamepad support.
