NeoPop is currently
the Neo-Geo Pocket and Neo Geo Pocket Color emulator
of choice. It features the highest compatibility
and highest stability amongst the other emulators
in it’s respective category. NeoPop also has
gamepad support, link support, full-screen support
and sound support. The source code to NeoPop is
available in two parts under the GPL; the first
is the Win32 source which encompasses code specific
to the Windows version of NeoPop and the second
is the Core, which is as it’s named, the core
of the emulator. One final note is the Windows binary
version number is broken down as follows, the first
number refers to the version of the core used and
the second refers to the version of the Windows-specific
components used

The
emulators below are considered works-in-progress. Due to their
development stage many of these emulators may exhibit stability
issues and may have little or no compatibility with commercial
titles. Also due to their development stage we do not feel
it's fair to rate these emulators as we do the others, so all
emulators in this category are un-rated.
Koyote

v0.5.0
for Windows
8 / 21 / 2002 |
Koyote is a very
full-featured Neo-Geo Pocket and Neo-Geo Pocket
Color emulator with hardware acceleration, netplay
and several other bells-and-whistles. Unfortunately,
Koyote is plagued with stability and throttling
issues. In our tests, Koyote has been known to exhibit
it’s stability issues the worst on Windows
NT platforms such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
At it’s current point in development, running
Koyote is not recommended. |
NeoPocott

v0.38b
for Windows
6 / 26 / 2000
|
NeoPocott is
a Neo-Geo Pocket and Neo Geo Pocket Color emulator
written in completely in C. Compared to the rest
of the NGP emulators, NeoPocott’s compatibility
is fairly good. Unfortunately, NeoPocott is lacking
in speed and features. As of yet, NeoPocott has
no sound or gamepad support. It should also be noted
that NeoPocott has been ported to over 10 different
platforms including the Sega Dreamcast and QNX.
