Stella is a powerful multi-platform Atari 2600 VCS emulator. Stella supports input via the keyboard and external gamepads. Through use of the special "Stelladaptor", Stella is capable of using authentic Atari 2600 controllers. Through the use of OpenGL shaders, Stella is capable of emulating the appearance of a CRT television with a wide range of options including color bleed, RF noise and phosphor burn-off.

bsnes

Richard Bannister’s OS X port of bsnes, a Super Nintendo emulator. bsnes is a cycle-accurate and as such, highly compatible emulator. bsnes is available in three separate cores, focusing on accuracy, performance and compatibility. The accuracy core is quite slow and intended only for development. Casual users are advised to use the compatiblity core. As of the current release, save states are not compatible between the three cores, a save state can only be used on the core it was created on. Full screen mode, USB gamepad support and a number of other features are available when used with Richard Bannister's Emulator Enhancer.

Note: PowerPC support for bsnes has been discontinued, the last version to support it was 0.5.0. Only G5 machines will be able to use bsnes at a playable speed.

Magic Engine is a Turbo Grafx 16 emulator for OS X and Windows developed by David and Cedric Michel. Magic Engine’s compatibility and speed are excellent and it has a very robust feature set. At minimum, a Power PC G4 at 800Mhz with 512MB of RAM is recommended. An Intel machine is preferred. Magic Engine is shareware, limited to 5 minutes for each gaming session. The Mac OS X version of Magic Engine can be purchased for $19 USD or you can buy both the Windows and Mac version together for $29 USD.
